Fun With Pens

So, we all know that writers are a bit unlevel. You know, off-kilter. OK, we're batshit crazy! But, there are more of us than you think. Lots of people have a need to tell their story, no matter if it's in a voluminous multi-edition series of works, or just standing by the water cooler. It's been this way since the first man stood up and did something. Even if all he did was to throw a rock, he needed to tell others about it.

This carries over, through thousands of years of negative thoughts on writing. People don't want to write for fear it isn't going to be "good enough". Ummm, good enough for who...or is it whom? Doesn't matter, the answer is...
I don't know.
I write because I have stories that demand to be told. Writers have what they call muses. It's just another fancy name for the voices in their heads, but if they admitted to hearing voices in their heads, they would be labeled as crazy and not just eccentric. Maybe, you might hear those voices. Maybe you have a story that you desperately want to tell, but you're afraid to tell. You know, because you might not be good enough.

The truth of the matter is, reading is subject to personal likes and tastes. What one person finds as "an inspiring feast for the soul", another finds as rubbish. It happens. So, while some people love what I write, others only like it. Or, the don't like it. OK, some people rip the pages out and line the birdcage with them! But, and here's the best part, it doesn't matter.
I needed to get the story out. It's out. If even just one person says they liked it, then it did its job. Look at it this way. If you write and you show it to your mom, there you go. You have your one like and you've done your job.
And now that my silent partner isn't so silent, maybe she and I can show you how to have fun with pens. And not just in writing dirty memes! Once we get a big enough audience, perhaps we'll do some things with you all. Maybe, just maybe, we'll even get a bit of writing done.
And when it's all said and done, maybe we can come up with something cool. Like a book with lots of stories in it. Themed stories. It'll get published (another topic we'll go over) and we can send all the profits to a charity. It's a start. For those who want to take that step, Savage Worlds will seriously consider publishing you. Spread the word and get some folks to follow along with you and let's have some fun with pens!
