The Dreaded Man-Flu

Image
Well, it's now day 6 of my man-flu siege. Coughing, sneezing, runny nose, burning eyes...I have it all. If I were a character on The Walking Dead, I would want to know where Carol is at all times! But what exactly is a man-flu? Be prepared, because what I'm about to tell you isn't pretty at all. In fact, it's horrifying! Man-flu is a debilitating disorder that indiscriminately strikes down male members of the human species. It attacks suddenly, without any type of warning. The illness is often referred to unfairly by females of the species who are in fact immune from the illness as the common cold. If you have it, you know there is nothing common about it! Each case is as individual as its victim. If man-flu is kind enough not to kill the infected party, it will absolutely leave him weak, sick, hurting everywhere and in dire need of affection. Because man-flu only strikes the XY chromosome, women are completely immune to it. This makes them the perfect car

Beautiful Art

When it comes to creating art, I envy those who can see a vision and then put it out there for the world to see. I used to love watching Bob Ross paint his landscapes. The creation of every happy little rock or tree was pure joy to watch. In Fire At Dawn , I give my dedication to Christy Grandjean, an artist of exceptional talent. Her piece "The Spirithunter" was the inspiration for the story. In The Stormrider, I again dedicate to her and also to another illustrator, Dark Natasha. She's another who brings the anthro world to life with her beautiful work. Both very talented artists as you can see. But today, we're going to be talking about another talented lady. She lives in Berlin and does her work under the name of AlectorFencer. Her real name is Claudya Schmidt and her creation is the creature known as Myre, hailing from the world of Yria. Her work is absolutely stunning, placing her right alongside the other two ladies here. Her new book is entitled

Audio Books

I'm old-fashioned. I like to smell paper, the glue bindings and whatever material makes the front and back covers. I like to turn pages and yes, occasionally get paper cuts. OK, so I don't like paper cuts, but I'm trying to make a point here! I don't even own an eReader! BUT...yes, an all caps but...I'm not averse to pushing a disc in and being read a story while I drive. Or eat. Or lay on the beach. C'mon, who doesn't like being read to? Especially if the voice is soothing. Like Morgan Freeman's voice is. Not so much Harvey Fierstein's voice. I'm sure he's a nice person, but his tones are less than soothing. James Earl Jones is soothing, as is Patrick Stewart. So, given the love that I have of being read to, I'm assuming others will love it too. With that in mind, I'm going to really try to make every book that Savage Worlds Publishing available in audio format as well. It just makes sense. I wonder who I can get for Fire At

A Bold New Step

So, today kicks off the spanking-new website for Savage Worlds Publishers. I'd like to say hello and thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I'm a writer, mainly in the epic fantasy genre, but I have been known to dabble in crime. I currently have 8 books finished and two more coming along. This is my new blog, Savagely Speaking. It's the blog for my new endeavour, nothing less than my own publishing company. But why? Why another publisher? For me, it's more an act of defiance than anything else. I have a publisher that I will not name. They told me, "Go write, we'll handle the rest." So, one year later, the book still sits idle. The only reviews it has are the couple I've chased down. It has no advertising unless you count the re-tweets of my tweets that were made as marketing. There are sales, but I never know about them so that I can market. It's been this way for a year now. Oh yes, another winning reason to move on; every royalty che
